If you're looking for a magical and unforgettable wedding experience, there's no better place than Lake Como. This stunning location in the Lombardy region of Italy offers breathtaking scenery, luxurious accommodations and exclusive atmosphere to create an unforgettable wedding ceremony and reception.

Lake Como provides the perfect backdrop for a fairy-tale wedding

Lake Como is widely regarded as one of the most romantic destinations in the world. Nestled in the foothills of the Alps, the area is surrounded by lush green mountains, which provide a dramatic backdrop to the lake's clear blue waters. In this blog, we'll explore why Lake Como is the ultimate luxury wedding destination and why it should be at the top of your list for your dream wedding.

Lake Como is the ultimate luxury wedding destination.

It’s ideally situated near Milan and Venice

Lake Como is located in northern Italy, and it's only a short distance from Milan and Venice. There are many international direct flights that fly into Milan from major cities around the globe each day. If you're looking for a luxury wedding destination that's close to the city making arriving easy for your international guests, Lake Como is a wonderful option for your big day.

How far is Lake Como from other popular destinations? Here are some facts:

It takes about three hours by car (or train) from Milan's Central Station to reach Bellagio on Lake Como. It takes about two hours by car or train from Venice's Santa Lucia station to reach Bellagio on Lake Como--and once there, guests can take boats across the water to get back into town if they want. This provides your wedding guests with convenience (a big factor when someone is considering attending a destination weddings) and options to get the most out of their trip to Italy.

An enchanting reception setting.

A luxury wedding at a villa or estate on Lake Como offers privacy, exclusivity and intimacy for your guests.

Privacy is a key factor in any luxury wedding, and Lake Como offers the utmost privacy for you and your guests. As a destination that has been visited by celebrities, royalty and other high-profile individuals for centuries, it's no surprise that privacy has always been important on this lake--and it still is today!

Some of these gorgeous locations offer more intimate settings than others; some have more rooms than others; some boast stunning views while others provide more seclusion. But all of them offer an unparalleled level of exclusivity so that you can truly enjoy yourselves during this special celebration without worrying about being interrupted by roaming hotel guests, traffic noise, or curious onlookers.

Lush greenery and neutral florals add an elevated wow factor to an already spectacular ceremony.

There are extraordinary villas, estates, and wedding venues to choose from in Lake Como.

Lake Como is home to many different wedding venues, each with its own unique luxurious style and setting with options for lakeside ceremony and receptions. Whether you're looking for a gathering space that feels like a garden or one with views of the lake (or both!) There's no shortage of options here. Additionally, we recommend that you connect with couples who have had their weddings at the locations you’re considering. This will give you an idea of other couples’ experience as well as insight into whether or not the venue may be the best choice for your big day.

Once you've narrowed down your list (and don’t forget the site visits, it’s important to visit your top choices in person if possible!) Then comes time for choosing which one you like best. In order to choose wisely though, your wedding planner will guide you since oftentimes many other factors come into play including budget, guest count, plan B options, to name a few.

Plus, since many venues offer similar views from different angles, this may help narrow down your decision further. Be sure to check out the Savvy girls’ favorite Lake Como wedding venues.

The best towns surrounding Lake Como are Bellagio, Menaggio, Tremezzo and Varenna.

There are many charming towns surrounding Lake Como that are also worth visiting. Bellagio is the most famous, but there are many others that can offer you a great experience as well.

Bellagio has a beautiful lakefront with plenty of restaurants and bars, as well as shops selling local products. If you're looking for something more active than lounging around on the beach all day, there are also plenty of hiking trails in this area that run along the hillsides overlooking Lake Como (and they're not too difficult).

Menaggio's beach isn't quite as nice as Bellagio's but it still offers some nice views of both mountains and waterfalls nearby - plus there's a little train station right next door where people can take rides up into those mountains if they want! Tremezzo has an extremely long promenade lined by rows upon rows of palm trees which makes it feel more like being somewhere tropical than Italy!

Varenna sits high above everything else so even though its beaches aren't necessarily superior, they do offer spectacular views across all three lakes connected via bridges between each other which look incredible when lit up at night time.

What months should I plan my lake como wedding?

Generally, the most popular months for a wedding in Lake Como include May, June, and September. These months offer pleasant weather with temperatures ranging from the mid-60s to the low 80s Fahrenheit (15-25 degrees Celsius), making them ideal for outdoor ceremonies and receptions.

May and June are particularly popular because of their mild temperatures and blooming gardens. The crowds are also relatively smaller during these months compared to July and August, which are peak tourist season months.

The weather is warm and sunny, with average temperatures around 70 degrees Fahrenheit (21 degrees Celsius). It rains less than half as much in June than it does in July or August, so if you want to avoid getting wet on your big day, this is the month to do it! Humidity levels are also low during this time of year--about 50% lower than they are in July--so you won’t have to worry about your hair as much.

If you still aren't convinced that June is the perfect month for an Italian wedding destination wedding, consider these other factors: Cloud cover averages only about 10% during June; so even if there's some bad weather rolling through town (which doesn't happen often), there's still plenty of sunshine hours left over for taking photos outside by the stunning lakefront.

September is another popular month for weddings in Lake Como because the weather is still warm, but the crowds have started to thin out. This makes it a great option for couples who want a more peaceful and relaxed atmosphere.

It is important to note that summer months can be hot and humid, with temperatures reaching up to the mid-80s Fahrenheit. This may not be ideal for some couples and their guests, especially those who are sensitive to the heat.

Ultimately, the best months for a wedding in Lake Como would depend on your personal preferences, budget, and availability. We recommend exploring historical weather trends and booking your venue well in advance, especially if you’re considering peak season months!
